Wholesale marketplace Wydr raises funds

Wholesale marketplace Wydr has raised funding of an undisclosed amount from its existing investors.

Wydr had earlier raised funds from Bessemer Venture Partners, Stellaris Venture Partners, Axis Capital, and Jungle Venture Partners in 2016.

The platform also allows buyers to connect with sellers on WydrChat to customize their requirements, negotiate prices and close deals.

The Gurgaon-based startup plans to use the funds to strengthen its seller base, set up pan-India offices and strengthen its product and technology.

IMAX Program raises $13.5m from LGT Impact, others

Personalised education startup IMAX Program has raised $13.5 million from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, LGT Impact Ventures and existing investor Aspada, said a report in The Economic Times.

According to the news report, the Bengaluru-based firm plans to use this latest funding for product innovation and expanding customer base through multiple distribution channels. IMAX will also explore working with school publishers internationally.

“We will use the funds for expanding our reach and also for product innovation. We presently cater to schools in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. We are looking to expand to Kerala, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Almost 90% of our schools are state board and mostly in tier 2 and tier 3 cities,” said Varun Kumar, cofounder, IMAX Program told the news paper.

IMAX Program offers textbooks, workbooks, school exams, feedback reports and individualised remedial worksheets along with teacher manuals and teacher training modules.

Awaz De Infosystems raises angel funding

Awaaz De Infosystems Pvt. Ltd has received funding of an undisclosed amount from angel investors brought together by Tribe Impact Capital LLP, a subsidiary of Aavishkaar-Intellecap Group.

The Ahmedabad-based startup, which provides mobile solutions to enterprises that focus on social programmes, plans to use the funds raised for scaling up operations in India and hiring new talent.

The angel investors that participated in the round include Takeshi Kato, founder of Japanese investment firm BWiz Capital; and Paula Mariwala, founder, and Prashant Adurty, investor-member, Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs India. Other angel investors including Pravin Gandhi, co-founder of Seedfund Advisors; Ajay Balvantray Parekh, director at Pidilite; and Samir Shah, managing principal at Sattva Investment Advisors also invested in this round.

Founded in 2010 by Neil Patel and Tapan Parikh, Awaaz De provides customised solutions for organisations to help communicate with their customers and stakeholders through text and voice messages.
